This past week was full of ups, and a couple of downs. I had the day off on Monday, which allowed me to catch up on learning some songs, and selling and buying some gear. I picked up a new to me Fractal Audio AX8 to replace the HX stomp that I have been using. I had to send the stomp into Line 6 for repairs and needed a rig that I can use to run direct.
My day Tuesday culminated in a 10pm to 2am gig at Lucky Bastard Saloon, which rolled into my day Wednesday. After sleeping in, I took the dog to the park, and followed it up with a 6pm to 10pm gig at Tequila Cowboy. Their new stage is killer, and working with their audio engineers is always a pleasure. I was supposed to play 10pm to 2am after that but that gig got cancelled, as they closed that floor of the venue early.
Thursday I spent the morning tweaking my tones on the new AX8, and then played 2 to 6pm at Honky Tonk Central.
Then the weekend kicked off strong. I had a double on Friday, 6pm to 10pm at Lucky Bastard, followed by a 10pm to 2am at Luke Bryans. I love Luke Bryans because there is always an interesting crowd. We had tons of birthdays, bachelorette parties, and one guy even fell down the stairs drunk.
Saturday was a long day. I played Nudies 3 to 7:45pm and then headed to Jason aldeans for a 10pm to 2am shift. Both were a blast and had great crowds. We did have to kick a couple people out for coming on stage during our set. The security said they will pull the tape. I am hoping to get a copy of that as one in particular was very funny. Also, after getting a few songs in on our set, Chris Bullard (played before us) brought out his brand new guitar and let me play it for the rest our set. It was an incredible Iconic Guitar. It looked similart to a PRS Singoecut, with a beautiful Gold Top and checked finish. It played like a dream.
My Sunday started with a short gig at Tequila Cowboy. A 2 hour acoustic gig. I had plenty of time to kill before my 10pm gig at Tin Roof. I love that my week ends with this gig at Tin Roof. I absolutely love the group I get to play with, and it's always so much fun. It's a great way to end the week.
It was pretty full week all things considered. It's pretty slow in Nashville right now, but I am thankful to be working, especially with the people that I get to work with.
